LODGING QUESTIONS

Q: Where should we stay, and how do we book a room within the designated room blocks?

A: We have secured the entire property at our main venue, Hotel Casa Anamaria, and the entire property at Masia La Palma (13 min to the venue) from September 11-13th. When you RSVP, you automatically reserve your room.

Our RSVP deadline is May 28, 2026. Rooms are first come, first serve, and we will not be able to guarantee you a room past this date. Once you complete the RSVP form, we will reach out to you to collect your room deposit, along with instructions on where to send the payment.

Q: Does our stay include meals?

A: Dinner will be provided to all guests on both Friday (during our Welcome Dinner) and Saturday night (during our Reception). Breakfast will be provided at both properties Saturday and Sunday morning. All meals on-site are optional. If you choose to eat off-site, you are responsible for transporting yourself and the cost of any meals.

Q: Are there other lodging recommendations?

A:Our expectation is that our guests stay within the two room blocks we have secured upfront. However, if there is an extraneous reason you cannot stay on one of the two properties we’ve booked, please communicate it in your RSVP form. We would recommend searching for nearby Airbnb or VRBO’s in the event you cannot stay onsite.

Q: What activities can we do at the venue?

A: There are tennis courts, a pool, and a spa alongside the events throughout the weekend.

CHECK-IN & CHECK OUT

Check-in will begin at 3:00pm on Friday, September 11th. You are welcome to arrive to the venue earlier, but you will not be able to access your room until the designated check in time. Check-out will be at 12pm (noon) on Sunday, September 12th.

TRANSPORTATION

Q: What is the primary airport for arrival?

A: The airport code is BCN, which stands for Barcelona-El Prat Airport.

Q: What options are available for traveling from Barcelona Airport (BCN) to the venue/hotels?

A: You have several transportation choices from the airport:

Taxi/Ride-Sharing: Taxis and ride-sharing services (like Uber/Cabify, though availability can vary) are available at the airport. We will provide estimated costs and journey times.

Train/Public Transportation: If a train option is feasible to a town near the venue, we will provide detailed instructions, including the train line names, estimated cost, journey time, and a link to the local train website.

Car Rental: Car rental options are available at the airport. We will advise you on parking at the venue/hotels and caution about driving in the Barcelona city center, if relevant.

Q: Are written directions available for those who are driving?

A: Yes, we will provide written directions from the airport to the venue and to the off-site hotel block. We will include both GPS-friendly addresses and landmark-based directions, as GPS can sometimes be unreliable in rural areas.

There will be one round of paid transportation from the venue to the airport on Sunday, September 13th.

WEATHER & PACKING

The venue operates as a full-service hotel, and has most of the amenities a standard hotel would.

Q: What's the weather typically like in Catalonia in mid-September?

A: Mid-September is one of the best times to be in Catalonia! We get to enjoy the beautiful weather without the intense heat of August. Think long, sunny days perfect for exploring, and comfortable, cool nights.

  • Average Daytime Temperatures: Expect lovely, warm weather in the mid-to-high 70s°F (24–26°C). The sun is still very strong during the day!

  • Average Nighttime Temperatures: Evenings cool down nicely into the low to mid-60s°F (16–18°C), making for perfect outdoor dinners and dancing.

  • Sunshine & Sea: The sun shines for about 7–8 hours a day, and the Mediterranean Sea is still wonderfully warm (around $73-75^\circ\text{F}$ or $23-24^\circ\text{C}$). If you're near the coast, definitely plan on a swim!

  • Rainfall: September is the start of the wetter season, so there is a moderate chance of rain (around 6–9 days). Don't worry, the rain usually comes in short, heavy bursts or thunderstorms, not all-day downpours!

Q: What should I pack for the trip?

A: Clothing

  • Pack light layers and breathable fabrics (like linen or cotton) for daytime exploring.

  • Don't forget your dressy outfits for the wedding events!

  • Cooler Evenings - A light jacket, cardigan, or stylish wrap is essential for when the temperature drops in the evening.

  • Footwear - Bring comfortable walking shoes for sightseeing, your fanciest dancing shoes for the reception, and any appropriate footwear for potential outdoor events.

  • Swimwear - Absolutely pack a swimsuit! September is the perfect time to enjoy the pools and the sea.

Other

  • Sun Protection - Please pack high-SPF sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses—the Spanish sun is no joke, even in September!

  • Rain Prep - A small, portable umbrella or a light, rain-resistant jacket will be a smart addition, just in case of an afternoon shower.

  • Adapters - If you're traveling from outside Europe, please remember your European plug adapter (Type C or F).

REGISTRY

CURRENCY

Q: What is the currency in Spain, and how should I manage the currency exchange?

A: The official currency is the Euro (€).

Our recommendation is to exchange USD for euros while you are still in the US. However, once in Spain, the best way to get Euros is by withdrawing cash from a local ATM (like those found at major Spanish banks such as CaixaBank or BBVA). You'll typically get the best exchange rate this way. We highly recommend avoiding currency exchange booths at the airport and in tourist hotspots, as their rates are usually quite poor.

Q: Are credit cards widely accepted?

A: Yes, credit cards are widely accepted in most shops, restaurants, and hotels. However, it's always handy to carry some cash for smaller purchases (like a market pastry or a quick coffee) and for tipping. Be sure to ask for VAT receipts with any purchases you plan to take home to the states so you are able to claim your return at the airport!

Q: What languages are spoken?

A: You'll hear two official languages: Catalan and Spanish (Castellano). While English is widely spoken in tourist areas and hotels, learning a few basic phrases in either language will be a fun way to engage with the locals and is always appreciated!
